How can I train at home?

by Devin
(ON, Canada)

Hey,
I was wondering what training can you do at home for parkour. I don't have lots of money to go to a gym or sport programs. Could you give me some tips on training in your house?

Hey,

Firstly, there is a thread related to this in the forum(http://drew2507.proboards.com/training/athome) you might wanna check that out for some movements.

Training at home can be difficult due to lack of space, your parents getting angry at you ruining the furniture etc. However you may be limiting yourself to movement training at home.

As you may know, practising movements isn't the only part of parkour training. The other two parts consisting of cardiovascular fitness, and muscular strength. Both of which can be done in and around the house.

For muscular training, you can do a series of exercises three times a week to build muscular power and strength, both of which are vital to being able to move efficiently. These can be push ups, sit ups, crunches, pull ups, anything which can improve strength in muscles used in parkour.

In accompaniment to this you could go on a short run on the days your not exercising which is also free!

Good luck with your training, hopes this helps!
