Its philosophy about what you are able to do and how fast you are in reactions. Thats not anything about "list of trick ,beeing famous or style..." You are doing it for yourselve ,its training ,its same as other sports ,but there are not challanges.

parkour is using freedom of movement and the body to overcome any and all obstacles in ones environment. A traceur(male who does parkour) or traceuse(female who does parkour) uses the freedom of movement to their advantage, while freerunners use that freedom of movement to express their emotions through acrobatic twists and flips. Parkour is about getting from point A to point B as fast, efficient and fluidly as possible while using the freedom of movement i mentioned above.

In short, Parkour is getting from "A" to "B" as fast as possible only using your body and surroundings.
A common mis-conception is that Parkour is just an excuse for vandalism or trespassing, however this is totally not the case as many Parkour practitioners will tell you. Parkour is a exercise or activity that, as in most activities, will test your physical and mental skill.
Parkour gives many people someway that they can express there feelings through movement, not only does it keep you in good physical state but mental aswell.
One of the many benefits to Parkour is that it can be done by absolutely anyone: A variety of skill,age, size, athletic ability and gender. This is what makes Parkour one of the fastest growing activities at this moment in time.
